Meet the team
Roman has been living in New Zealand for the last 7 years. He started considering cycling as a serious hobby in 2002 when he built his first custom bike. Later on, he spent 6 years working as a bike technician at the Specialized BC dealership, where he witnessed e-bikes take their place in the market.
As part of his job, he was servicing 3 to 5 mountain bikes a day, managing to combine perfectionism with efficiency and speed. One of his favorites thing to do in a workshop is building wheels.
Jason is a North Island Immigrant, he has spent the last 15 years in the Nelson/Marlborough Region comfortably finding a settlement to be with his family.
He knows the region like the back of his hand and has ridden most of the local bike tracks. If you need any advice on where to go, be sure that Jason will give you the best recommendation.
Why should you come to Marlborough?
Because here we are surrounded by beautiful bays, good wine, and every possible type of terrain to cycle through with stunning and clear views. Unparalleled wine and Beer and a laid-back small-town atmosphere. The cherry on the cake? Marlborough also receives most of the sunny days in New Zealand!
Our recommended track in the area is the Whites bay loop track, by far one of the most naturally challenging technical and fun descents in the region, with not a berm nor rollable double set in sight. But if you are looking for something easier, you should try the Wither Hills Farm Park, it has a brilliant range of mountain biking tracks on a 1,100ha working sheep and cattle farm.
Our team’s favourites
Although it was not an easy choice, Roman’s favourite bike in the shop is the Wattwheels Omnia because is just what a bike perfectly built for a purpose should be like.
While Jason prefers anything by Kalkhoff because every ride is a functional work of art.
